In the heart of the Goldfields Oasis Recreation Facility, a vibrant spectacle unfolded on Tuesday, July 9th, as the Shire of Coolgardie proudly fielded their team for the CommonHealth Games. Amongst the cheers and camaraderie, the Kambalda contingent led by the indomitable Wendy, rallied together for a day of spirited competition and joyous celebration.

Last week, Coolgardie and Kambalda's youth celebrated winter with exciting Winter Parties. Held at the Coolgardie Community Recreation Facility on July 4th and the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility on July 5th, these events were filled with snowy delights, face painting with a zombie theme by Mellany from Lashique Boutique, thrilling games, and tasty sausage sizzles.

On Thursday, 11 July the Shire of Coolgardie Seniors Staying Connected programme delivered a Thermomix demonstration, which left attendees captivated and eager to explore new horizons in their kitchens.

Our lovely group of seniors recently embarked on a delightful trip to Coolgardie, proving that age is just a number when it comes to staying connected and having fun.

This past Wednesday, Kambalda Community Recreation Facility was transformed into a vibrant battlefield for an action-packed Nerf Gun War, delighting 19 children who eagerly participated in the event. The day was filled with excitement, teamwork and laughter as kids aged 5 – 12 , engaged in a series of thrilling activities from constructing forts to honing their aim with target practice.

Kambalda Community Recreation Facility transformed into a galactic wonderland, hosting an unforgettable space themed party for children aged 0 – 10 years.

On Tuesday, 9 July the Kambalda Community Resource Centre and Kambalda Community Gardens joined the rest of Australia in celebrating National NAIDOC week in recognition of the culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Seniors Staying Connected participants were treated to a heartwarming performance by the Kambalda West District High School Y2-6 choir group on Thursday, 20 June. The performance left attendees beaming with joy as the young voices filled the room with harmonious melodies.

Sylvia is an absolute inspiration! Turning 91 is a remarkable milestone, and it's incredible to hear that she attributes her vitality to the fitness classes at the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility.
