The Shire of Coolgardie is saddened by the passing of former Shire President and long-serving Councillor, Billie Ingham.

Billie was a passionate advocate for Kambalda and its people. After moving to Kambalda in 1971, she dedicated much of her life to strengthening the community she loved, raising her family there and becoming a tireless volunteer, community leader and champion for local residents.

Elected to the Shire of Coolgardie Council in 1986, Billie served with distinction and became Shire President in 1992, holding the role for seven years. She was widely respected for her genuine care for others, her strong community spirit and her unwavering commitment to the people of Kambalda and the wider Shire.

Billie believed deeply in the value of community and worked throughout her life to make Kambalda a better place for future generations.

Her warmth, leadership and dedication left a lasting mark on the town and the region she was proud to call home.
