Meals On Wheels
The Shire of Coolgardie recognises that community members may require additional support during COVID-19 self-isolation requirements.
The Prime Minister advised on 30 March 2020, that due to COVID-19, “people aged 70 and over should stay at home and self-isolate for their own protection to the maximum extent practicable.”
In response to the pandemic, the Shire of Coolgardie, with support of the mining industry and other stakeholders, has launched a Meals On Wheels service for elderly residents.
The Shire identified the need for the service through its weekly wellness phone call check-ins with seniors in the community.
Beginning on 28 April 2020, the Meals On Wheels service provides a nutritious meal delivered to your door by a volunteer or Shire Officer twice a week.
