The Shire of Coolgardie is thrilled to announce the opening of a brand new 0-6 age group playground located at Barnes Drive, Kambalda West. This playground is a testament to the Shire's commitment to fostering community growth and engagement through innovative projects and partnerships.
The 0-6 playground project stands as a shining example of the Shire of Coolgardie's dedication to enhancing the quality of life for its residents, especially its youngest members. This initiative was made possible through the Shire's forward-thinking Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, coupled with a ground-breaking collaboration with the mining sector.
“Through strategic planning and the implementation of revenue-generating commercial activities like Bluebush Village and the Coolgardie Waste Facility expansion, the Shire has successfully generated additional funds that have been channelled towards essential community infrastructure projects, including the newly inaugurated 0-6 playground. These initiatives have not only accelerated the activation of projects that would otherwise take years to realize but have also showcased the Shire's innovative approach to community development” remarked Shire President, Malcolm Cullen
The playground, tailored for children aged 0 to 6, aims to provide a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where young ones can play, explore, and create cherished memories. This playground is the first of its kind for this age group in Kambalda and reflects the Shire's commitment to catering to the diverse needs of its residents.The public opening of the 0-6 playground is scheduled for Thursday, 7th September 2023, at 11:00 am.
