The Shire of Coolgardie is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Sabine Taylor as its new Chief Executive Officer. Council endorsed the selection at a Special Council Meeting held on Tuesday, 15 September following a diligent recruitment process conducted by the Chief Executive Officer Selection Panel. The panel consisted of elected members and an independent panel member, consistent with the CEO Recruitment Model Standards and the Shire's CEO recruitment framework.

What started as a small after-school activity with six local children has quickly become one of Coolgardie’s most popular Tuesday afternoon events. This week, 25 people turned up for Nerf Wars at the Coolgardie Community Recreation Centre — a huge increase from the six who attended when the program first began.

The Shire of Coolgardie is saddened by the passing of former Shire President and long-serving Councillor, Billie Ingham. Billie was a passionate advocate for Kambalda and its people. After moving to Kambalda in 1971, she dedicated much of her life to strengthening the community she loved, raising her family there and becoming a tireless volunteer, community leader and champion for local residents.
