Published on Friday, 28 January 2022 at 2:54:26 PM

Based on the latest health advice, the State Government has expanded its proof of vaccination requirements to include new higher-risk venues across WA. This includes “a gym, indoor sporting centre, wellness centre, health club or fitness centre or dance studio (including a centre offering yoga, barre, pilates, aerobics, dancing or spin facilities)”.

From 12:01am Monday 31 January 2022, anyone aged 16 years and older attending the Coolgardie or Kambalda Community Recreation Centres to access the Gym, indoor courts or group fitness classes will be required to show proof of their double-dose COVID-19 vaccination (or medical exemption) prior to accessing the facilities. Proof of vaccination can be either digital or paper form, along with proof of identification if not using the ServiceWA app.

Gym Members

Gym members are required to provide proof of vaccination to a staff member at the Coolgardie or Kambalda Community Recreation Centres so their access to the Gym can be continued. Members will only have to provide proof of vaccination once.

From 12.01am on Monday 31 January 2022, access will be subject to proof of vaccination being provided. For the health and safety of Gym members, the following COVID-19 conditions of entry must be adhered to:

  • Please do not attend the facilities if you are unwell
  • Face masks must be worn indoors at all times except during vigorous exercise
  • Sanitise your hands upon entry
  • Towels must be used on equipment – no towel, no workout
  • Wipe down the equipment with the supplied spray and wipe after use
  • Please observe 1.5m physical distancing and practice good hygiene at all times

Casual Users and Visitors of the Community Recreation Centres

From 12.01am on Monday 31 January 2022, casual users and visitors to the gym, fitness or indoor sport facilities (including spectators) at the Coolgardie or Kambalda Community Recreation centres are required to provide proof of vaccination (or a medical exemption) upon entry.

Visitors to other areas of the Coolgardie or Kambalda Community Recreation Centres are not required to provide proof of vaccination at this time.

All visitors to the Community Recreation Centres and Gyms are still required to check in using the ServiceWA app (or paper-based contact register) each time they visit.

As the State Government instructions related to COVID-19 are frequently changing, we strongly encourage our customers to monitor the https://www.wa.gov.au website for the latest information. If you need help with accessing proof of your vaccination please go to Getting Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations website.

Thank you to all of our members and visitors for being understanding and respectful to our staff while we implement the State Government’s requirements.
