Last week, the Kambalda community library hosted a delightful event that left kids buzzing with excitement.

What a lovely day it was for our 15 Seniors, that participated in the Shire's Seniors Staying Connected program.

This January 2024 school holidays at the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility consisted of lots of different fun crafts, board games and movies.

On Wednesday 24, January the Shire of Coolgardie held an Australia Day Crafter-noon. Parents brought their kids down to the Kambalda Community Library to paint and decorate Australian flags to be displayed on Australia Da

Did you know that the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility runs our Seniors Staying connected program once a fortnight? This free event is all about getting out of the house, even in the coldest of days, and coming together to enjoy each other’s company and connect with like minded people.

The school holidays at the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility were jam packed with fun and excitement over these last school holidays, but a sure winner was long-time Kambalda residence, Min Blechynden’s Air clay event.

During the NAIDOC Week celebrations in Kambalda, the youth were invited to take part in many activities to celebrate and honour Australia’s Indigenous Aboriginal culture and people.

Youth Week was an opportunity for young people aged 12 – 17 years, to express themselves, be heard and be celebrated was hosted by The Shire of Coolgardie from the 17th – 21st of April 2023.

Blessing of the Roads is a ceremony that encourages people to work together towards a future with zero road fatalities and road trauma.

Safer Internet Day 2023, celebrated its 20th year creating awareness, helping 180 countries and territories around the world, understand the risks and encourage safer online experiences.

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year, celebrating and recognising the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The week of festivities is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

Community members were invited to come and attend a fun filled morning with games, prizes to be won, raffles and plenty of sweet and savoury foods to choose from. With the help of our community members a generous amount of $ 1,445.75 was raised with all donations going directly to Cancer Council WA supporting people impacted by cancer when they need it most.

The Shire of Coolgardie hosted its annual Blessing of the Roads ceremony on Tuesday, 13 April 2022, praying for the safety of our road users during the Easter holiday period.

Thursday 20th January saw the first Seniors Staying Connected program delivered for 2022.

Shire of Coolgardie staff gained valuable life saving skills recently and earnt a Certification in HLTAID011 to provide first aid.

On Thursday, 26 August 2021 we transformed the Kambalda Public Library into a theme of old worlds, new worlds and other worlds along with a handmade time machine and props that magically turned children into dragons, robots and a knight for CBCA Book Week 2021.

On Thursday 29 July 2021 the Kambalda Community Resource Centre partnered with the Shire of Coolgardie Ranger Services to bring the Ranger Information Evening to the Kambalda community.

On Wednesday 14th July the Kambalda Community Resource Centre saw a great turn out of garden enthusiasts attend the Sustainable Kitchen Garden Workshop at the Kambalda Rec Centre.

The Kambalda Community Resource Centre hosted another well attended bi-annual Welcome to Town Morning Tea on Wednesday 21 July 2021 at the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility.

On Sunday, 23 May 2021 the Kambalda Community Resource Centre invited the community to the annual Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. This year saw the centre hosting well over 70 community members for scrumptious treats and fun games with the aim to raise funds for Cancer Council.

With a clear message 48 enthusiastic volunteers and community members were all hands on gathering for this year's Clean Up Australia Day held at Newtown Dam on Sunday, 7 March 2021.

After a successful Get Online Week event held in October last year, the Kambalda Community Resource Centre has since registered as a Be Connected Network Partner offering and delivering FREE weekly Be Connected 'digital upskilling' group sessions and one-on-one support in the Kambalda Public Library.
