Prohibited Burning Time

Pursuant to section 17 (7) of the Bush Fires Act 1954, notice is hereby given that the Shire of Coolgardie will be shortening the Prohibited Burning Time by 14 days to 12.01am Monday 18th March 2024.
Landowner/occupiers MUST obtain a fire permit from their nearest Fire Control Officer before any hazard reduction or burning off can commence.
Permit holders are reminded under the new Australian Fire Danger Rating System all permits will be deemed invalid when the Fire Danger Rating reaches ‘HIGH’ or above. The onus is on the permit holder to check the Bureau of Meteorology website for the day’s fire danger rating prior to burning.
Please note fire permits can be suspended or cancelled at any time by any Fire Control Officer based upon local or forecast weather conditions.
