Prescribed burning underway – Great Eastern Highway

Published on Monday, 7 April 2025 at 11:55:13 AM

Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) Parks and Wildlife Service will this week be undertaking prescribed burns in areas north and south of the Great Eastern Highway in the Boorabbin and Goldfields Woodland national parks and surrounding Unallocated Crown Land.

Smoke may be visible from the highway. Motorists should take care, turn on headlights and follow traffic management signs when driving through areas affected by smoke.

Prescribed burns help manage conservation areas and minimise the likelihood of large bushfires in the future.
