Seniors Christmas goes off with a double bang!

The Shire of Coolgardie's Seniors Christmas Luncheon went off with a double bang this year with both a Seniors Luncheon in Coolgardie and Kambalda.

Senior residents were treated to a sumptuous lunch followed by dessert, all the while being serenaded by live music from Chris Edmondson in Kambalda and Marcus McGuire in Coolgardie.

Beautiful donated hampers were drawn as spot prizes and winners went home with gifts from an airfryer to supermarket gift cards. A small gift was placed on each plate for all attendees so nobody went home empty handed.

While enjoying their lunch, residents were entertained by students from the Shire’s local primary schools, Kambalda Primary School, Kambalda West District High School, Coolgardie Primary School and CAPS Kurrawang.. The surprises weren’t over with a visit from Santa to round off the afternoon. Many residents took the opportunity to have their photo taken and share a few laughs with the man in red.

Each year the Shire of Coolgardie hosts local residents at the Senior’s Christmas Luncheon free of charge and the event is well supported by local businesses and members of the community. The Shire would like to thank the following businesses and stakeholders for their support. Adroit Mining Services, Pryce Mining Services, Retravision Kalgoorlie, Elements Hair Tribe, Kambalda Hotel, Hon Kyle McGinn and Ali Kent MP, Coolgardie IGA, Woolworths Kambalda, Bidfood, Gold Fields St Ives, Goldfields Womens Healthcare Centre, Eddie Lister, Karen Vodden, Kambalda CRC, Coolgardie CRC and Norseman CRC.

The Shire would like to wish it’s seniors a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
