Laughter, popcorn, and school holiday fun filled the Coolgardie Community Recreation Centre on Tuesday 15th of April as Centrecare hosted a special Movie Afternoon for local children and teens.
The event, held from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, welcomed young people aged 6 to 18 for an entertaining school holiday activity that provided not only a great movie, but also a chance to connect with friends in a relaxed, safe setting. The Rec Centre was transformed into a pop-up cinema, complete with comfortable seating and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
Children and teens were treated to light snacks and refreshments, adding to the cinema experience and giving everyone a chance to mingle and enjoy their break from school.
Organised by Centrecare, the Movie Afternoon is part of an ongoing initiative to offer meaningful community-based activities that support youth wellbeing and engagement. Staff were present throughout the event to help facilitate the afternoon and share information about available programs and services.
The event was well-attended and positively received, highlighting the value of school holiday activities that bring young people together in a fun and supportive setting.
