Coolgardie RSL Rose Garden and Memorial Park – New Water Mains

The Coolgardie RSL Rose Garden and Memorial Park was established by the Coolgardie RSL Committee.  Several families use this area to place the ashes of previous RSL members with memorials currently established in the beautiful rose garden.  The Park is also used to host Coolgardie’s annual ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day.

The Shire of Coolgardie is actively pursuing a long-term solution for the maintenance of the Park which will result in the establishment of a permanent on-site water metre.

Shire President, Malcolm Cullen said that the care and maintenance of this area is currently being undertaken by the Shire of Coolgardie’s Gardens Crew.

“Our crew frequently water the rose garden and lawn by bringing water to the site via a water truck.  In the meanwhile, Shire staff have been working to investigate the installation of a permanent water supply which will be independent from the RSL building.”

Several community members have expressed an interest in developing a “Friends of the RSL Rose Garden and Memorial Park” to honour these important members of the Coolgardie community.

If any community members are interested in volunteering their time to assist in caring for the RSL Rose Garden and Memorial Park, please contact Bree Crawley via
