In a heartfelt and meaningful gathering, the Shire of Coolgardie hosted its Blessing of the Roads Ceremony at Coolgardie Park on Wednesday the 16th of April, bringing the community together to reflect, remember, and promote safer roads for all.
Held from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, the ceremony formed part of the broader Blessing of the Roads campaign, which raises awareness about road safety and aims to reduce road deaths and serious injuries. The event also offered a moment to honour those who have been affected by road trauma.
The ceremony opened with a prayer and blessings led by Father Thai, joined by Sara and Steven Forward, who offered thoughtful readings in support of the event’s message. In a moving moment that touched many in attendance, Sara performed a stirring rendition of Amazing Grace, creating a quiet space for reflection and remembrance.
Community members, local leaders, and guests stood together in support of the campaign’s message: to take care on the roads, value every life, and work together to create a safer future for all.
The Shire of Coolgardie thanks everyone who attended and supported this important event. Through shared commitment and continued awareness, we can all help make our roads safer.
