Congratulations to our Finance Officer, Leeanne on a massive 10 years of service with the Shire of Coolgardie.
We asked Leeanne a few questions about her time with the Shire.
- What other jobs have you done prior to working in Local Government?
Before I came to WA I was a Retail manager for two pharmacies in Dubbo for ten years. And I previously worked in Health Services as a Hospital Assistant as a cook, cleaner and patient transport. When I arrived in WA I worked at the Kambalda Pharmacy and also Administration for St Ives.
- What was your first position at the SoC?
Library Officer.
- What other roles have you held at the SoC?
Front Counter Service Officer, Department of Transport Officer, Records Officer, Rates Administration, Finance Officer.
- What do you enjoy most about your job?
Customer Services, new challenges every day, and being able to have the opportunity to learn new things.
- What do you hope to achieve while working at the SoC?
To keep building on my personal skills to be diverse and make a significant contribution to the community.
- What are some of the highlights of your career?
Many great experiences have come from being a part of the Shire's journey. New developments and the people I have worked with (past and present) and the diversity of the people in the community.
- What changes have you seen in the industry in the last decade?
Much more fast paced, with so many venues and services provided to the community. Mining is certainly reshaping townsites with the accommodation camps.
- What do you like to do outside of work?
Catch up with family, travel, garden, read cook and sew.
