On Thursday, 11 September 2025, the Kambalda community gathered from 11:30am to 1:00pm to mark R U OK? Day— a national day of action that reminds us to check in with each other and start a meaningful conversation.
The event brought together 75 people of all age groups, creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere focused on mental health, connection, and community support.
A huge thank you to the service providers who made themselves available for a chat and offered valuable resources throughout the day, including:
- Centrecare
- Hope
- Goldfields Rehabilitation Services Inc
- Mara Pirni
- St John Ambulance
- MEEDAC
- Kambalda West District High School
Attendees had the opportunity to engage with each of these organisations, ask questions, and learn more about the support available in our region.
A special shout-out goes to MEEDAC for generously cooking the ever-popular sausage sizzle, which added a great community vibe to the event and kept everyone well-fed!
Events like these remind us that a simple conversation can make a big difference. Let’s continue to ask, “Are you okay?”—not just today, but every day.
