Bitumen Bandits

Be on alert for bitumen bandits – Consumer Protection WA has received reports they may be currently targeting consumers and businesses with the Goldfields Esperance Region with their dodgy work.
These travelling fake tradies offer to re-surface driveways and car parks, but the standard of their work is extremely poor and they break consumer laws by approaching potential customers uninvited and failing to observe the required ten business day cooling off period.
If you’re
approached, send them on their way and contact Consumer Protection immediately on 1300 30 40 54 or consumer@dmirs.wa.gov.au to report their whereabouts. Information such as descriptions of the offenders, vehicle registration numbers or business names used are also useful.
