I joined the Shire of Coolgardie Council on 14 July 2026 and have proudly called the Shire home since relocating to Coolgardie to become Principal of CAPS Coolgardie. I was encouraged to nominate for Council after hearing from local residents about the opportunities and challenges facing our community.
Originally from South Africa, I hold a Bachelor of Education, a Diploma of Leadership and Management, and a Master of Educational Leadership. My professional background includes teaching, pastoral leadership, community service and senior education leadership roles across Australia. Throughout my career, I have worked with people from a wide range of backgrounds, developing a strong belief that thriving communities are built through positive relationships, shared responsibility and service to others.
As Principal of CAPS Coolgardie, I work closely with students, families, local organisations and Indigenous communities to create opportunities for learning, growth and connection. I am also involved with the Coolgardie RSL Committee and the Coolgardie Progress Association.
As a councillor, I am committed to supporting community development, quality services, local events and economic opportunities that help our towns thrive. I believe one of our greatest opportunities lies in strengthening connections between people and fostering a strong sense of community pride and participation.
What I enjoy most about living in the Shire is the space, natural beauty and rich history, but most importantly, the people.
Fun fact: I enjoy playing almost any ball sport, and I once performed in a mime production. I'm always looking for ways to improve things and am an optimist by nature, firmly believing that the best is yet to come.
