Coolgardie once again came alive with colour, laughter and community spirit as thousands gathered for Coolgardie Day on 21 September 2025. This much-loved annual event is not only a chance to celebrate our town’s birthday but also a proud reflection of our heritage and identity.

With an estimated 18,000–20,000 people attending, the day was filled with family fun, from the iconic street parade and bustling market stalls to carnival rides and showbags. More than just entertainment, Coolgardie Day is about bringing people together – creating joy, pride and lasting memories for families on an affordable budget.

One of the organisers shared, “My favourite part of Coolgardie Day is watching families walk around and enjoy a day together.”

Behind the scenes, it takes around nine months of planning and the tireless efforts of volunteers, organisers and sponsors to bring the day to life. The Shire of Coolgardie is proud to have supported Coolgardie Day for over 35 years through a combination of financial support and in-kind contributions.

Shire President Malcolm Cullen said, “Coolgardie Day is one of the most significant events in our community calendar. It honours our rich history while providing a vibrant and inclusive day for families and visitors.”

The future of Coolgardie Day remains bright, with organisers hoping it will continue to remind the community of its importance and history, which is very much alive today.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the many sponsors, volunteers and supporters who helped ensure this year’s celebrations were such a success. Planning for next year is already underway, and organisers are calling on Community members ,businesses and the mining industry to get involved.
