A big congratulations to Teresita (Tessie) on 15 years service with the Shire of Coolgardie.
Tessie, a cleaner, always brings a smile to her work and is a valued member of the team. Her positive sparks spreads through our workplace and the community.
We asked Tessie a few questions about her time with the Shire.
What do you remember about your very first day working at the Shire of Coolgardie?
I remember thinking what a big facility it was as where was I going to start!
What has kept you motivated and committed to your role over the past 15 years?
I like the work, especially the people and the community, they are friendly.
Is there a moment or memory from your time here that stands out as particularly meaningful or special?
When Jill, a past staff member was here I came in one day to find that I couldn't get into my cleaning cupboard, something was in the way. I pushed through and to my surprise Jill had decorated my cleaning trolley for my birthday. It had chocolates and presents and it was so much fun, I was happy and grateful.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in a similar role at the Shire?
Love your work. Whatever you do, if you love it then it is a good outcome for everyone.
