The Coolgardie Recreate and Community came alive with excitement as Kalgoorlie author Cheryl Davies, took centre stage for captivating story time sessions that left young minds in awe. The highlight of our Book Week celebrations drew a lively crowd of both children and parents, all gathered to immerse themselves in the enchanting tales brought to life by Cheryl's storytelling skills.

Cheryl's animated reading style held the children spellbound, as they hung on to every word and vivid description. Following the engaging storytelling session, the young participants had the opportunity to channel their creativity through a craft activity, creating their own personalised bookmarks that showcased their imagination.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, CAPS enthusiastically joined in the session, fostering a strong sense of community and shared learning. Students from CAPS embraced the chance to listen to the "Australian Baby Animals," a heart-warming narrative that not only nurtures a love for reading but also cultivates an appreciation for the diverse Australian wildlife.

The combined efforts of Cheryl, local families and CAPS evoked smiles and laughter from the young audience, resulting in a truly memorable and interactive experience for all involved. As the event drew to a close, heartfelt expressions of gratitude were extended to Cheryl for her involvement in the Book Week celebrations. Her contribution undoubtedly ignited a passion for reading among the upcoming generation.

With the echoes of storytelling and creativity resonating in the air, the Book Week Story Time at Coolgardie Recreate and Community Centre stands as a testament to the transformative power of literature, collaborative community efforts, and the sheer joy of shared learning.
