NAIDOC Week Celebrations - 50 Years of deadly - Coolgardie
Wednesday 8th July 2026

NAIDOC Week is held each year in July and provides an important opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures, histories and contributions. It is a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, leadership and continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to land, sea, culture and community.
The 2026 NAIDOC Week theme, 50 Years of Deadly, marks a significant milestone, celebrating five decades of NAIDOC Week and honouring the people, communities and movements that have helped shape its powerful legacy. This year’s theme reflects on the past, celebrates the present and looks ahead to the future, recognising the ongoing strength and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across generations.
As part of this year’s celebrations, MEEDAC will be hosting a community event to bring people together in a welcoming and inclusive space. Everyone is invited to join us as we celebrate culture, connection and community.
