Ranger
The Shire of Coolgardie has an excellent opportunity for an experienced person or a motivated individual looking for a new career challenge as a community Ranger.
About the Role
Based at the Shire’s Coolgardie Office, the Ranger position carries out regular and routine patrols of the Shire’s streets, roads, thoroughfares, parking precincts, facilities, and recreation areas, responds appropriately to observed and reported breaches of relevant local laws and applicable legislation.
This role is responsible for animal control, parking and vehicle control, and assists with fire risk management throughout the region while promoting well-being, safety and respect in the community.

About You
The role would ideally suit an experienced person, or TAFE graduate with a Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services), or Certificate in Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 and 2, or Municipal Law Enforcement A&B, or other relevant regulatory compliance and enforcement skills/qualifications.
This position will entail both on the job practical training and prescribed courses if required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Well-developed customer service and people skills with effective complaints handling, problem solving and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to positively influence community compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good self and time management skills.
