As part of our Suicide Prevention work, WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) has recently purchased additional licenses for individuals to access the Black Dog Institute Recognise and Respond training module. Recognise and Respond is a 1-hour online course that aims to reduce and prevent suicide in Australia. It equips you with the skills and confidence you need to have a life-saving conversation with a friend, family member or colleague who may be at risk of suicide.

The training is suitable for general community members without any Suicide Prevention training, and could be distributed to:

  • Council staff who are gatekeepers or have direct contact with the target cohort
  • Community organisations you are aware of who’s staff engage with the target cohort and may benefit from the training
  • Key individuals within the community who are act as gatekeepers for the target cohort. E.g. sports coaches, community leaders

Please email your interest to ecdc@coolgardie.wa.gov.au to obtain the link for this self-paced course.
