The Shire of Coolgardie has noticed an increase in residents flushing items that should not be entering our sewer network. This is putting unnecessary pressure on our sewerage and water services.
The Shire of Coolgardie asks community members to dispose of all waste in the bin, where it belongs.
Please do not flush the following items:
- Disposable/Wet Wipes (including those stated as flushable)
- Paper Towels
- Nappies
- Razors
- Cotton buds
- Sporting equipment
- Clothing items
- Feminine hygiene products
- Underwear
- Hand towels
- Bath towels
Flushing these products is causing stress to the lines and service, resulting in extra maintenance, cost and disruptions to planned works.
