Mandatory Contact Registers

From Saturday, December 5, WA businesses and venues will be required to maintain a mandatory contact register for staff and patrons.   The reintroduction of contact registers is an additional protection measure and will assist with WA Department of Health contact tracing, should it be required.

The following Shire of Coolgardie facilities in Coolgardie and Kambalda will require registration of your attendance –

•    Coolgardie Community Recreation Centre
•    Kambalda Community Recreation Facility
•    Coolgardie and Kambalda 24-hour Gymnasiums
•    Kambalda Aquatic Facility
•    Coolgardie Pool
•    Coolgardie Visitor Centre / Museum
•    Warden Finnerty’s Residence
•    Coolgardie Administration Building
•    Kambalda Administration Building

•    Coolgardie Waste Disposal Site
•    Kambalda Waste Disposal Site

Unaccompanied children under 10 are encouraged but not required to register. Adults accompanying children under 10 are encouraged to register for them.

The WA Government has developed the free, SafeWA app, an online contact register system that uses QR Codes for patrons and staff to scan to register their attendance.

The Shire of Coolgardie will also have a paper-based contact register at venues for people who choose not to use the app.  The register will include your location, date, name, telephone number and arrival time. Email addresses are optional.

Failing to comply with the new requirements to maintain a contact register could result in fines and penalties of up to $50,000 for an individual and $250,000 for a body corporate or 12 months’ imprisonment.
