It’s been one year since Coolgardie was named one of the top tourism destinations in WA in the 2018 GWN7 Top Tourism Town Awards.

Entered in the Towns with a population under 5,000 category, Coolgardie was awarded the Judge’s Visit Award.

In September 2018, the Tourism Award Judges travelled to Coolgardie to assess the tourism appeal of our Shire. The judges were treated to an insightful culture talk by Cr Betty Logan, followed by:

  • A guided tour of Warden Finnerty’s
  • A walking historical tour of the town
  • A guided tour through the museum
  • A lunch featuring local entertainment
  • Visits to local businesses

The award win is a reminder of the unique charm and appeal that our community has for visitors and the Shire of Coolgardie hopes to continue to build this tourism appeal through investment in projects such as the redevelopment of the Post Office Complex, the rejuvenation of Ben Prior Park and the opening of the Kambalda Aquatic Facility.
