Council Elects a New Shire President and Deputy Shire President
At Council’s Ordinary Meeting held on the 27th October 2009, Council elected a new Shire President & Deputy Shire President for the the Shire of Coolgardie.
The CEO received 2 nominations for Shire President from both Cr. Malcolm Cullen and Cr. Norman Karafilis. Cr. Cullen was declared the successful candidate after receiving 5 votes to Cr. Karafilis’ 3 votes.
The position of Deputy President was contested with 3 nominations received from Cr’s Marg Donkin, Alec Mills and Daphne Simmons. An election was held with newly elected Cr. Daphne Simmons receiving 4 votes, Cr. Donkin receiving 3 votes and Cr. Mills receiving 1 vote
